Carol Moseley Braun Puts Foot In Mouth One Last Time As Her Dismal Campaign Ends

Last night, as Moseley Braun conceded defeat in Chicago's mayoral race, won by Rahm Emmanuel. she said that though it wouldn't be her, she was sure that someday someone would be elected the first woman mayor of Chicago.

JANE BYRNE WINS !

This foot in mouth was right in line with her entire silly campaign , which was based entirely on two things, once upon a time she was a US Senator and she has chocolate colored skin. Justifiably, she received a paltry 9% of the vote tonight.

How horrible must this candidate have been for her to pull 9% of the vote in a city that is over 40% black?

Well she accused a fellow candidate of being a crack addict when the woman had witnesses to attest she hadn't been a drug user since she was a teenager.

She made a joke which made a comparison between Rahm Emmanuel , a Jew, and a character in a play depicting Adolf Hitler.

And she had to reveal the complete failure of her business, an organic tea distribution which grossed less than 15,000 dollars last year.

Moseley Braun seems to be a genuinely nice woman who has had gaffes and controversy follow her around for years. Why she thought it was appropriate to run for mayor of Chicago is anybody's guess.

I assume Braun meant to say that one day some one will be the first BLACK woman mayor of Chicago, but it didn't come out that way. What else is new?

Here is a link to a story containing more information about Moseley Braun's shockingly amateurish campaign, including the video of her gaffe concerning Jane Byrne (near the end of the video) from last night.

A long time ago she was considered quite the up and coming politician in Illinois, and of course won a US Senate race. Somewhere along the way this woman lost every lick of sense she had.

She had no business running for mayor. She had no platform and no grasp of the issues, she was just hoping somehow that 90% of blacks would vote for her as they did for Obama and she could make a runoff where she would again play the race card. They tried to do it blatantly the day before the election.

At least she's stopped talking. She ran her campaign as though she thought getting elected would be easy. A little slung mud and ta-da! It was either ineptitude or laziness. These are the kinds of questions that emerge when the public has keener perception and more incisive analytic skill than the candidate. I think we just cared more than she did. I was luke-warm about her before, now she's right up there with Palin, in my book. See: it might not matter how "blue" or "red" you are, rather whether or not you conduct yourself with intellect and conscience.
